Exploiting ‘fear’ (?)

Skipping around here . . . like I usually do . . . but just on a few (familiar) topics.

DT “can’t believe” a Federal Judge can block his EO.

NOAA whistle-blower Bates says NOAA doctored their reports re: global warming:

You’ll have to sort this out for yourself — I hope you will.  FIND OUT WHAT THE TRUE FACTS ARE (if you can).  About this and everything.

Iran has ‘removed’ a missile from a launchpad there.  Not sure what this means.  Iran’s leader is not happy with the US and US behavior in the world.

DT says “common sense” should sometimes overrule LAW.  However, his view of ‘common sense’ may conflict with another person’s view of ‘common sense.’

Critics of DT’s ‘Ban’ say there’s no immediate threat.  The threat level has not changed since last November’s election (and before).  No one is opposed too extra ‘vetting’ (on a case-by-case  basis) but the EO was premature.  John Kelly says the EO was rolled out “too fast,”  and takes the blame.

In San Francisco 9th Federal Court:  Judge Canby was appointed by POTUS-Carter; Judge Clifton, by POTUS-Geo. W. Bush; and M. Friedland, by POTUS-BO.  The seven involved countries are Libya, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Somalia, Sudan, and Iran.  Rudy Giuliani, on national TV, ‘did’ call it a “Muslim ban” but then re-named it.  Judges are saying that same thing, by a different name, is still the same thing.

POTUS-DT seemed to think he didn’t have extreme vetting (in place), but he did . . . then he made a (non-fact-based) decision that has led to chaos throughout the world.  There was no proof that individualized vetting wasn’t working . . . it’s worked since 9/11/2001.  What we had ‘was’ working.  The CIA has filed something to this effect.  Remember, early on, DT insulted the intelligence community and said ‘they’ were not trustworthy.

True, the Fed. Court doesn’t have the intel that POTUS has.  The POTUS is the person responsible for national security and has broad powers but this of course does not include illegal orders and/or violating the USC.

DT’s anti-Muslim remarks and rhetoric from his campaign trail are being introduced into evidence.  His anti-Judicial System remarks are being noted.  Critics are saying that DT wants us to ‘fear’ and ‘circle the wagons’ and that he portrays himself as the ‘only one’ who can ‘save the world.’  DT is ‘good’ at ‘exploiting fear.’  He presents a consistently dark picture of the world.  DT says (without proof) there’s a rising threat of terror.  Is this a pretext for some ulterior motive and/or planned military action?

DT continues to speak non-truth in public.  He said the ‘murder rate’ was the ‘highest’ it’s ever been in 47 years.  This is not true.  He said the media is not reporting terror in the world.  This is not true.  Is he lying deliberately?  DT seems to think there’s a conspiracy in the ‘media.’  Most of the media personalities I’ve heard say they want DT to ‘succeed’ (not fail) . . . they want him to do what is truly good for America.

Exploding health costs are the problem!  How is ‘that’ being addressed?  Look at the prices of drugs!  Drug CEOs have tremendous political power.  There needs to be anti-trust busters to break up the big companies which have consolidated their power and created escalating medical costs.

DT will not surrender his business dealings.  His wife explicitly says she wants to make as much money as she can off being the First Lady (which is a time-limited thing, she says).

The WH has taken down a website that’s long been there to protect animals from abuse.  This was done quietly, w/out any announcement. When there was push-back the WH said that POTUS-BO did it, which is not true.  It is expected they will yield to public pressure and restore the site.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren tried to submit a letter written in 1986 by MLK’s wife (Coretta)  into evidence against the Sessions nom. and was cut off and rebuked by majority leader Mitch M. and silenced, told to ‘sit down’.  The letter was admitted into evidence in 1986.  She later released the letter online and to social media.  Silencing a senator like this is most unusual.

The Federal Court needs a ‘rational reason’ for the EO . . . the basis of the Ban order must be substantial, and not merely based on what DT ‘thinks’ or ‘believes’.  The powers of *any* POTUS must always be subject to official review, to prevent abuse of power.  One question, ‘Did DT have a motivation to discriminate?’  It would seem so — DT has been talking about a “Muslim ban” for several years — much prior to running for office.  The WH doesn’t want the courts looking “under the hood” re: their actions.  So far, what DT has done with this EO is hand ISIS a perfect tool for recruitment and radicalization.

The First Lady wants to make money off her public fame and current office.  She says she has a limited window of opportunity to do so and regards herself as one of the most photographed women in the world.

The suit lays out the plan for Melania Inc.:

“Plaintiff had the the unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, as an extremely famous and well-known person, as well as a former professional model and brand spokesperson, and successful businesswoman, to launch a broad-based commercial brand in multiple product categories, each of which could have garnered multi-million dollar business relationships for a multi-year term during which Plaintiff is one of the most photographed women in the world. These product categories would have included, among other things, apparel, accessories, shoes, jewelry, cosmetics, hair care, skin care and fragrance.”

Is POTUS-DT deliberating trying to be a ‘strongman‘?  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strongman_(politics)

Starting a war is something leaders sometimes do to gain power and support.  Is DT trying to do this?

DT seems to  take seriously the content published on http://www.infowars.com/  There are LOTS of articles here, which seem to be pro-DT.   More about the site:

And, they published these:

All three of these things DT has recently railed about match what this conspiracy-theory website is reporting.  DT has also said he feels the National Enquirer is a credible news source.
